I love waterfalls.

The main attraction in Matucana is the trek to the Catarata de Antakallo (a waterfall), though it is also known for its great climate (sunny in the Peruvian winter, great for growing different fruits and vegetables). You walk along a path up through the town and then begin the fairly steep hike up and then across to the waterfall. I went on the hike with Carlos, my guide.i have been travelling many times to Peru.Each time I was constantly surprised by how beautiful the Andean sierra is. I love the Andes. 🙂

Barranco is known as the creative district of Lima. It is originally a small village that has been incorporated into Lima over the years and still has a cozy atmosphere. Barranco is a paradise if you like street art and is known for its art. The authenticity of the village has not been lost and, compared to Miraflores, you will not find McDonalds and Burger King in Barranco. You will find a lot of trendy coffee shops, nice restaurants and a cozy square. Oh yes, and even walk over the famous bridge Puente de los Suspiros.

While I love Norway all year, I have to admit winter in Tromsø is particularly special. Of course the highlight for most people visiting Tromsø in winter is getting a chance to see the northern lights, but there are also so many other fun winter activities on offer here.

The Mauritanian Iron Ore Train: Backbone of the Sahara Here we go then. The highlight and the main reason for this trip. In Mauritania, iron ore is vital, accounting for half of the country’s exports. Every day, three colossal trains leave Zouerat for the port of Nouadhibou. The 704 km journey takes 17 hours, and the trains are enormous. They can be up to three km long, and each train carries 17,000 tons of ore, enough to build an Eiffel Tower. They are among the longest and heaviest trains in the world.

Toen ik een rustig wandelingetje maakte om de plaatselijke sfeer op te snuiven werd ik aangesproken door Alina. Dit meisje was trots omdat ze enkele woordjes engels spreekt.Ongedwongen wilde ze tonen waar ze woont, waar ze tijd doorbrengt met haar familie, hoe haar mama zorgt voor de was en de plas….
Het zijn niet altijd de spectaculaire tours die van tel zijn, vaak blijft gewoon de eenvoud en gastvrijheid van Afrika in het geheugen gegrift.

Evening exploration in Ashgabat, the city embraced my presence with bright neon lights that boldly screamed for my attention. They illuminated stadiums, reticent buildings, busy malls that created a florescent universe easily could’ve been mistaken for Vegas or Dubai.
