Andorra

Andorra is a small princess that is fully enclosed by France and Spain. It is the highest state of Europe and also one of the smallest states. Most visitors come to Andorra because of the tax-free status and the beautiful landscapes.
I rented a car in Zaragoza in northern Spain and drove to Andorra la Vella, the capital of Andorra.
Everywhere I saw French and Spaniards with lots of interest for the many tax-free shops. But there is more than just only shopping here. Andorra la Vella is located in a very beautiful bowl-shaped valley, surrounded by the Pyrenees.
The town of Andorra la Vella is known for its ancient stone streets and houses. The city has a total of six protected monuments, four are in the center.
Andorra is mountainous, a truly hiking paradise. That’s why I came for. Almost everywhere there are routes and trails that offer stunning panoramas and beautiful views of the valleys of the Pyrenees.
The Tristaina Lakes are fantastic. These lakes are hidden in the high mountains near Ordino. I walked along various paths. The three lakes are truly located in an impressive setting.
Winter is high season. Thousands of ski lovers come down here but I was there in the month of June and the weather was super nice. Andorra has many ancient and interesting churches in authentic village houses. Especially the Romanesque churches dominate the country. Andorra is also a millenary country: Romanesque art, museums and monuments, culture trails, festivities and celebrations… are just a small sample of its rich historical legacy.
In one of these villages, an annual festival took place with traditional dancing and music, I’ve enjoyed this atmosphere.
I love the authenticity and simplicity of the small villages. In Andorra, I’ve enjoyed nature that radiates a lot of peace.
