Today we took a long walk under a burning sun to some waterfalls. Three boys from the neighborhood followed and showed us the way… they walked barefoot.. their parents did not have the money to buy shoes… When we got back to the village I bought each a pair for them which attracted a lot of people
For me a small thing; for them the day could not be spoiled and they were proud to be on the picture.

The main attraction in Matucana is the trek to the Catarata de Antakallo (a waterfall), though it is also known for its great climate (sunny in the Peruvian winter, great for growing different fruits and vegetables). You walk along a path up through the town and then begin the fairly steep hike up and then across to the waterfall. I went on the hike with Carlos, my guide.i have been travelling many times to Peru.Each time I was constantly surprised by how beautiful the Andean sierra is. I love the Andes. 🙂

Barranco is known as the creative district of Lima. It is originally a small village that has been incorporated into Lima over the years and still has a cozy atmosphere. Barranco is a paradise if you like street art and is known for its art. The authenticity of the village has not been lost and, compared to Miraflores, you will not find McDonalds and Burger King in Barranco. You will find a lot of trendy coffee shops, nice restaurants and a cozy square. Oh yes, and even walk over the famous bridge Puente de los Suspiros.
