    Hot hot hot…

As we strolled through the winding streets of Old Montreal, we felt like we were entering another world. The charm of the centuries-old buildings and the warm summer light gave everything a golden glow. All around us, the sounds of street musicians and the laughter of people on crowded patios resonated. We paused at the majestic Notre-Dame Basilica, where the stained-glass windows left us speechless. In the small shops and art galleries, we discovered unique treasures, each with its own story. The vibrant atmosphere, the sense of community, and the historical splendor made our visit a warm and unforgettable experience.

Today it was a warm and very sunny summer day as we explored the Old Port of Montreal. The fresh air and bright sky made the whole place feel alive. We saw La Grande Roue, the big wheel, standing tall in the distance—it looked peaceful turning slowly above the trees. Nearby was the Port Tower, and from its high platform, we could see amazing views of the city and river. We also walked past the Cirque du Soleil tents, which felt exciting even without a show happening. The whole walk was full of sunshine, great sights, and fun memories we’ll always remember.

Summer in Montreal is alive!!!

We went to Cirqu’Easy in Montreal and absolutely loved it!
The place felt like a cool outdoor party, with circus performers walking around and doing amazing tricks.
There was music, lights, and fun cocktails—and everything felt like a dream.
It was exciting, friendly, and totally unforgettable.

Today, I visited the magnificent Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal a neo-Gothic gem with a ceiling so blue it felt like standing beneath a starry night. The vibrant stained glass and ornate woodwork left me in awe, each detail whispering stories of history and faith.

A few impressions about Quebec. Centre Québec City feels warm and lively. The streets are made of stone and the buildings look old, like a fairytale. People speak French and love to smile. There are small shops, cozy cafés, and music in the air. It’s a place full of stories and friendly faces, where history and fun come together.
The Tesla Cybertruck blew me away — a stainless-steel giant that looks like it drove out of the future. Its insane speed, power, and sci-fi style left me genuinely impressed. Shame it’s not allowed on Belgian roads due to EU safety rules, but wow… what a machine. I wish i could buy one with my black money🙂
After a six-hour flight from the East Coast of Canada, we touched down in vibrant Vancouver, ready to soak up everything the West had to offer. Our first morning began with a delightful breakfast at a Belgian-owned brasserie — a comforting taste of home wrapped in Canadian hospitality. We spent the day wandering the charming streets of the old town downtown, discovering its character and cozy corners. The atmosphere welcomed us with open arms — our first impressions couldn’t have been warmer.
Stanley Park welcomed us with sunshine and soul — a dazzling 32°C day that made every step feel like summer’s embrace. We explored the park entirely on foot, soaking in its natural beauty and cultural treasures. The totem poles at Brockton Point stood tall and proud, telling stories of Indigenous heritage that added depth to the landscape. At Beaver Lake, we paused to admire the peaceful wetland surrounded by lush forest, a quiet contrast to the city’s buzz.

As we wandered, breathtaking views of Vancouver’s skyline unfolded along the seawall, each turn offering a postcard-perfect moment. Stanley Park truly has it all — from tranquil trails and vibrant gardens to iconic landmarks and wildlife. It’s not just a park; it’s a living, breathing masterpiece. An unforgettable highlight of our Vancouver adventure.

Today we have visited Granville Island in Vancouver and had a great time at the market. There were lots of tasty foods and fun things to see. The place was lively and colorful, and we really enjoyed walking around. It was a happy and fun day!
A great way to discover and travel in Vancouver is by boat. There is a watertaxi, a waterbus
16 hours bustrip all the way from Vancouver to Calgary!
The bus ride from Vancouver took so long! I couldn’t sleep at all, but the views outside were really beautiful and made the trip feel special.
Looking forward to the endless beautiful nature of Canada 🇨🇦

On the road with our campervan Ready for the Canadian Rockies

Lake Louise Canada

Today I went to Lake Louise. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The lake was so blue and calm, surrounded by big mountains. We started a hard hike all the way up to the Big Beehive. It wasn’t easy—the trail was steep and long—but the views were worth it. I stopped along the way to catch my breath and enjoy the fresh air. When I reached the top, I saw the whole lake below me. It looked like a shiny jewel in the sunlight.

The weather was perfect today. Clear skies, warm sun, and cool mountain breeze. After the hike, I felt tired but really happy. I knew right then that this is why we came to Canada—to feel the power of nature and do something special. It was a day I’ll always remember.

After a full day of exploring the beautiful mountains, it was so nice to visit Banff Town. The streets were bussy but still lovely and the small shops were fun to walk by. I had a diner and relaxed while looking at the mountain views. Banff town felt peaceful and friendly—a perfect ending to a nature-filled day.

We visited Moraine Lake today and it completely lived up to the hype absolutely stunning. The bright blue water with the mountains all around looked unreal, like a postcard come to life. Since you can’t drive there anymore, we took the shuttle, and honestly, it added to the experience. The ride was smooth and exciting, knowing what was waiting at the end. The whole spot felt calm and powerful at the same time. It’s easily one of the highlights of our Rockies trip.
Today we took the Banff Gondola to the top of the mountain and it was such a bright, sunny day. The views as we rode up were amazing, with forested slopes and endless valleys. At the top, we walked the wooden paths and looked out over the whole area. We even spotted Lake Louise shining blue in the distance it was beautiful. The warm sunshine made everything feel even more special. A great memory from our Rockies trip!

Takakkaw Falls-Yoho national park

We stopped today at Takakkaw Falls during our Rockies road trip, and it was honestly one of the highlights.
The drive up Yoho Valley Road was already beautiful, and then the short walk to the falls made it all feel effortless. You can hear the thunder of the water before you even see it — and once it comes into view… wow. The falls are huge , with the water that drops over 250 m this is one of the tallest in Canada, and that misty breeze hitting your face makes it feel even more powerful. We hung out at the base, took in the views, snapped some pics, and just soaked it all in. So glad we made the stop.

On the way to the Columbia Icefields, we stopped at a roadside restaurant and I tried something very Canadian : poutine with chili. It’s fries with melted cheese curds and gravy, but this one had tasty chili on top too. Warm, cheesy, and full of flavor — perfect after a long drive. The view of the mountains made it even better!

Lake Peyto & Bow Lake
On our drive to Jasper we have stopped at Bow lake for a selfie🙂and a few kilometers furtber norther we did a hine unto the fewpoint of Peyto Lake in Banff National Park is a glacier-fed lake renowned for its brilliant turquoise color, caused by light reflecting off fine rock flour from the Peyto Glacier.

Jasper Town
We visited Jasper, town a cozy mountain base surrounded by towering peaks and wild beauty. Its historic train station still welcomes iconic journeys, and I loved strolling past charming old buildings like the Jasper Park Information Centre and the Fire Hall. The mix of railway history, rustic architecture, and starry skies in the Dark Sky Preserve made it feel timeless.

Mount Robson

We have been to the Wild Majesty of Mount Robson National Park.Nestled west of Jasper, deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, lies a wilderness that took our breath away—Mount Robson National Park. This trip added yet another unforgettable chapter to our exploration of the Rockies, and the memories we made here will linger for a long time.

Our hike was no small feat. It was long, challenging, and laced with dense forest trails that seemed to whisper secrets of the land with every step. But the effort was worth it tenfold. At the end awaited Lake Kinney, shimmering like a jewel in a basin of mountains. The moment we reached it, a wave of awe and peace washed over us. It felt like nature’s reward—raw beauty that only reveals itself to those willing to journey deep into its arms.
The Robson Mountains rose around us, dramatic and majestic, making us feel small in the best possible way. Their jagged peaks and immense scale offered a humbling reminder of the wildness still left in the world. I found myself just… taking it all in. Feeling grateful. And grounded.

This trip wasn’t just another destination—it was a discovery. Another stunning slice of the Rockies now etched into our story.

Jasper Wapiti campground

We’ve been camping at Wapiti in Jasper for five days—every night, the sunset was unreal. Our campervan is parked in the perfect spot, and sleeping under a sky full of stars feels like a dream come true. It’s peaceful, wild, and unforgettable.

On our journey between Jasper and Banff, the Columbia Icefield was one of those stops that took our breath away literally and figuratively. We climbed aboard the Ice Explorer, crunching across ancient ice, and stepped out onto the Athabasca Glacier. Standing there with the wind whipping around us, surrounded by peaks and silence, felt strangely emotional—like touching deep time.

I remember learning the glacier used to stretch all the way to where the parking lot is now, but over the last century, it’s retreated almost 1.5 kilometers. It was a humbling moment, knowing the ice beneath us had been frozen for thousands of years and now it’s slipping away bit by bit. That visit stayed with me long after we drove on.

We took off in a rented campervan to explore the Canadian Rockies. It felt like a little house on wheels, packed with snacks, cozy blankets, and that buzz of excitement.
Every morning, we woke up to crazy views—mountains standing tall, lakes so clear and blue they didn’t look real, and sometimes deer passing by like it was their backyard.

We made quiet stops at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, just standing there soaking it all in. The air was so fresh it almost felt like medicine.
One of the coolest moments was walking on the Athabasca Glacier at the Columbia Icefield. Cold toes, warm hearts, and lots of laughs.
At night, it was all about campfires, talking under the stars, and cooking simple meals that tasted amazing outdoors.
The campervan made the whole trip feel like freedom—we could go anywhere, stop anytime, and make memories out of the smallest moments.

We spent a full, unforgettable day at Lake Maligne; it was honestly one of the most impressive spots we visited in the Canadian Rockies. We kicked things off with the Mary Schaffer hike, surrounded by silence and sweeping views. The trail was peaceful, with every turn giving us another reason to pause and take it all in.But the real highlight was the boat trip to Spirit Island. As we glided across the deep blue water, the mountains seemed to close in around us, cradling this tiny island with such quiet beauty it felt almost sacred. That moment, standing on the dock and looking out at Spirit Island, was pure magic. It’s one of those places that sticks with you the colors, the stillness, the feeling that the world had paused just for us.

Wow… what a trip we’ve had in Canada. Tomorrow we fly back home from Calgary, and I can’t believe how fast these 18 days went by. It feels like we just landed in Montreal, full of excitement and ready to explore.

Montreal was the perfect start. The mix of French charm and city vibes made it feel like Europe and North America had a baby. We wandered through old streets, tasted delicious food, and soaked in the culture. Then we headed to Québec City, and it was like stepping into a storybook. The old buildings, the friendly people, and the calm atmosphere made us fall in love with it.

From there, we flew across the country to Vancouver. What a change! Big city, ocean views, and mountains all around. We loved the energy there. And Vancouver Island? Just wow. Nature everywhere. Forests, beaches, and peaceful towns. It felt like time slowed down and we could just breathe.

Then came the road trip through the Rockies. Honestly, this part was unforgettable. Jasper and Banff National Parks were like postcards come to life. Lakes so blue they didn’t look real, mountains that made us feel tiny, and wildlife popping up when we least expected it. We learned so much about Canada’s nature and history, and we met so many kind locals along the way.

This trip gave us memories we’ll carry forever. Canada surprised us in the best ways. The landscapes, the people, the feeling of space and freedom… it was all fantastic. We’re heading home with full hearts and a camera roll bursting with beauty.

Our last day in Canada… it’s hard to believe the trip is over. We spent a short time in Calgary, our final stop. It’s a big city, and to be honest, it felt a bit American tall buildings, wide streets, lots of cars. Not really cozy, but interesting to see.

From there, our road trip ended. We packed our bags, said goodbye to the Rockies, and headed to the airport. Our flight with Air Canada had a stop in Montreal, and then we flew to Brussels. It was a long journey lots of hours in the air, but we made it.Once we landed in Brussels, we took the train back to Wervik. Home sweet home. Tired but happy.

Canada… thank you. You gave us nature, adventure, kind people, and memories we’ll never forget. You were amazing.🇨🇦
